Lessons: Through a variety of projects, students have created documents that required using the grammar and spell check, header and footer, insert page numbers and dates using icons. Assessment: Daily checks on progress. Projects are returned to be redone when students fail to use the appropriate tools. Unit 3: Spreadsheets and Databases Objectives: students will be able to:
Lessons: Students are creating basic spreadsheets and using the icons and formulas list to calculate totals and averages for lists of values. They are also formatting the spreadsheets and printing them in order to learn how to control the print output. Assessment: Daily checks on progress. Projects are returned to be redone when students fail to use the proper tools. Unit 4: PowerPoint Objectives: students will be able to:
Lessons: Students are creating presentations using PowerPoint. They are adding transitions, animation and sound to their presentations and are using the outline format to make changes and to understand the importance of outlining to the creation of a presentation. Assessment: Daily checks on progress. Powerpoint presentations. Unit 5: I Movie Objectives: students will be able to:
Lessons: Students will film video and take pictures and combine these in a one minute movie. They will learn to use transitions between scenese, add epecial effects, and add music and narration to their movie. Assessment: Daily checks on progress. Presentation of movie. Unit 6: Web Page Design using HTML and Web Editors Objectives: students will be able to:
Lessons: Students are creating simple web pages using the header, image, font, and a href tags. Further projects will include the use of tables to format the web page. Assessment: Daily checks on progress. Projects are returned to be redone when the web page does not load as intended. Presentation of student work.
